A Republican congressman is raising alarms after a string of scientists tied to UFO research and advanced technologies have died or vanished under mysterious circumstances, just as the Trump administration moves toward releasing long-classified UFO files.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) warned this week that the pattern is too serious to ignore.

“Something dark is going on,” Burchett said during an appearance on The Benny Show.

Scientists Vanish as UFO Files Loom

Burchett pointed to multiple cases involving individuals with knowledge of sensitive technologies, including nuclear and aerospace research, who have either disappeared or died within the past year.

“Something is going on,” he said, referencing one scientist who “had some nuclear secrets” and went missing “the week after the president said he was gonna start releasing some of those [UFO] files.”

“We had several folks that have left this earth or disappeared that had some close proximity to a lot of that,” Burchett added.

When asked whether he had personally interacted with any of the individuals during classified briefings, Burchett responded cautiously: “Possibly.”

High-Profile Cases Raise Questions

Among the cases highlighted:

   • Retired Air Force Major General William McCasland reportedly went missing in February after leaving his home with a revolver.

   • NASA aerospace engineer Monica Reza has been missing since June 22, 2025.

   • MIT physicist Nuno Loureiro was murdered in December.

   • Astrophysicist Carl Grillmair was shot dead in February.

   • Novartis Director of Chemical Biology Jason Thomas was found dead in a Massachusetts lake in March.

Burchett suggested the pattern may be connected to sensitive information tied to UFO research and advanced defense technologies.

“I am not suicidal,” the congressman added, underscoring the seriousness of his concerns.

Trump Briefed as Questions Mount

Burchett revealed that he has discussed the situation directly with President Donald Trump.

“It’s like an onion, you just keep peeling it back,” he said he told the president.

He also claimed that even Trump may not have full access to all information held within agencies like NASA regarding UFO-related data.

Government Moves Fuel Speculation

The warnings come as the federal government has taken steps that are further fueling speculation.

Records show that two new website domains, alien.gov and aliens.gov, were recently registered by the U.S. government.

When asked about the domains, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly told DefenseScoop, “Stay tuned!”

The registrations follow President Trump’s pledge to release long-awaited UFO files.

The move has intensified public interest and scrutiny around what the government knows.

Growing Concern Over Transparency

The convergence of these developments about missing scientists, unexplained deaths, and upcoming disclosures has led to increasing calls for transparency.

While no direct evidence has been presented linking the incidents, Burchett’s warning reflects growing concern among some lawmakers that critical information may still be concealed.

As the administration prepares to release more details, questions continue to mount over what exactly is being uncovered and who might be affected by it.
