The U.S. government banned TikTok claiming China might spy on your data. Now it will be owned by the U.S. government — so you can be sure they will.

The American people got played on this one.

According to Reuters, "TikTok's U.S. operations would be controlled by an investor consortium including Oracle, Silver Lake and Andreessen Horowitz, under a framework the U.S. and China are finalizing, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter."

Users will download a brand new app, run entirely on American infrastructure with US-controlled algorithms.
