September 18 marked the deadline set by the United Nations General Assembly last year for Israel to cease its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories. Despite a historic two-third majority of member states (124) voting in favor last September, Israel’s aggressive actions have only increased in the intervening year. In fact, a new UN Security Council resolution, which called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the lifting of all restrictions on humanitarian aid, was again vetoed by the United States. Israel meanwhile steamrolls ahead with its occupation of Gaza City—a move which may be the final nail in the coffin for hundreds of thousands.

It’s not only Gaza, however, that is being utterly reduced to rubble, but the international order itself. And U.S. President Donald Trump, who was elected to address this and other historic crises, finds himself instead groveling to the King of England in London. A despicable sight indeed!

Despite this, the world is in a transformation “unseen in a century,” as Chinese President Xi Jinping likes to say, and is by no means sitting still and watching the decaying Anglo-American order. Consider the most recent developments in this light:

First, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a mutual defense pact, which includes that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.” A second nuclear power has implicitly been introduced to the region, shattering the status quo and underscoring the reality that many no longer feel safe in a world dominated by Western disorder. The move comes on the heels of the outrageous Israeli strike on Qatar last week, which led many in the Arab world to call for a new defense alliance against Israel. It should also be seen in the context of the recent comment by Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy, who suggested that his country could begin developing its own nuclear weapons for its defense.

Next, there are new “space wars” developing between the world’s leading countries. It has now been revealed that governments are spending more for military investments in space than they are for civilian investments—and this in a new frontier that should be characterized by peaceful collaboration.

Then there is the news that China has prohibited its biggest tech companies from purchasing Nvidia chips. The American efforts to restrict the country’s most coveted technologies from being used by China, begun under the Biden Administration and continued under Trump, now appears to be leaving the U.S. isolated and in the dust. Trade restrictions, sanctions, and other means of economic warfare by the Global Minority were bound to fail in a world increasingly rejecting those methods, and the attempts by some to hold onto their power appears to have only tipped the scales further.

Lastly, after months and years of attempting to keep India in a more Western-centric orbit, it was recently made known that Indian troops participated in the much-feared Zapad military exercises with Russia and Belarus. Europe and the U.S.’s pressure to get a stubbornly independent India to break its close relations with Russia are backfiring.

So, how does this dramatic series of events affect the terror facing Gaza’s citizens? There is clearly a global shift underway, defined by the rejection of the decadent unipolar order which has attempted to impose an iron fist over much of the world, and given impetus by the enormous economic successes of groups of nations, such as the BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This spirit of mutually-beneficial cooperation and anti-bloc friendship can actually address the underlying causes of war, and lay the basis for a new world.

Solutions exist, such as the LaRouche Oasis Plan for Southwest Asia, which could provide the foundation for peace and long-term development of the region for everyone. What’s needed now more than ever is the intellectual courage to act on this potential, and not get lost in despair at the continuing ugliness. The convening of the United Nations in New York over the next week presents an opportunity to mobilize and demand urgent action is taken. We must not miss the moment.
