No Expert, No Die! - Geert Vanden Bossche Challenges the Narrative on COVID-19 Boosters

Belgian virologist Dr Geert Vanden Bossche, known for his outspoken critiques of mass-vaccination strategy, says public-health policy has drifted far from biological reality. In his latest commentary, he claims science is “uncritically and ridiculously following the narrative” and points to mainstream coverage as proof that the global conversation around booster shots has lost its scientific footing.

Following the Narrative

In a post titled “No Woman, No Cry. No Expert, No Die!”, Vanden Bossche references a recent NBC Today article — “Experts Say New COVID Vaccines Will Be Needed for 2025–2026” — calling it an example of “science following policy instead of biology.”

“I have never seen science uncritically and ridiculously follow the narrative like this,” he writes. “Do people even realize that all the discussion about whether COVID-19 booster vaccinations are effective is, immunologically speaking, as hollow as the trunk of an old willow tree?”

Antibodies vs Immunity

Vanden Bossche argues that the ongoing focus on antibody counts misses the real picture.

“The presence of in vitro neutralizing antibodies, still considered the gold standard by a regiment of dilettantes calling themselves ‘experts,’ is hardly relevant anymore.”

He maintains that it’s now the body’s T-cells—not antibodies—that keep SARS-CoV-2 partly in check. Yet, repeated booster campaigns and reinfections may cause “chronic stimulation” of those immune cells, which he believes could lead to immunopathology and even contribute to “(turbo) cancers.”

Immune Pressure and Evolution

According to Vanden Bossche, constant immune activation also exerts “life-threatening collective immune selection pressure” on the virus, encouraging new variants that may be harder to control.

He expands on this theory in his detailed analysis, When the Trojan Horse Becomes the Virus, where he urges a fundamental rethink of how vaccines are used in already highly-vaccinated populations.

The Central Warning

“These amateurs swear by measuring pseudo-neutralizing antibodies as proof that the vaccines protect against severe disease, while they completely fail to understand that this effect has nothing to do with the stimulated antibodies but rather relies on chronically activated T cells.”

For Vanden Bossche, the path forward lies in recalibrating immunity rather than endlessly boosting it. Whether one agrees or not, his message challenges policymakers to ensure science leads policy — not the other way around.
