On the 80th anniversary of the opening of the 1945 “Trial of the Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal (IMT)"—more commonly called the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal—Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking to a forum on the topic, said, “[S]uch crimes have no statute of limitations, and they were definitively judged 80 years ago during the Nuremberg Trials. Its norms and principles remain relevant today. They help us firmly resist attempts to distort historical facts and guide us in finding appropriate responses to modern global challenges and threats.”

Executive Intelligence Review also reflected upon the Nuremberg trials process, in a somewhat different way. EIR called, on short notice, an emergency virtual roundtable to prevent an international crime against humanity—in this case, another no-win war—that is now in the process of being committed. “We are assembled here to put out an analysis of what the dangers are if the United States goes ahead, and goes for a regime change operation in Venezuela, but we are also intending to portray how the world can get out of this crisis,” said Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Editor-In-Chief of EIR, as she began her remarks on Nov. 20.

At Nuremberg, infamously, the Nazi Finance Minister Hjalmar Horace Greeley Schacht, who had played the central role in organizing and coordinating the financial and political engine that brought Hitler to power, though tried, was found not guilty. Why? “If you want to indict industrialists who helped to re-arm Germany, you will have to indict your own, too. The Opel Werke, for instance, which did nothing but war production, were owned by your General Motors,” said Schacht.

But there was far more to it than that. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, also the founder of the Schiller Institute, edited The Hitler Book in 1984 that thoroughly investigated how Hitler truly came to power, and Hjalmar Schacht’s and the City of London’s true role in bringing him to power. The Hitler Book’s Chapter 7 is titled “The Nuremberg Trials, Hjalmar Schacht, and the Cold War.” The War Party that Schacht was in fact a representative of, was the same that, by the time of the 1945 opening of the Nuremberg Trials, had already devised the British-authored scheme, “Operation Unthinkable.” That was a plan to attack the Soviet Union with American-made nuclear weapons, in order to “impose the will of the United States and the British Empire,” in the words of the actual plan. These, such as the Bank of England’s Montagu Norman, as well as the Dulles brothers—John Foster Dulles of the State Department and Allen Dulles of the CIA—were Hjalmar Schacht’s sponsors and collaborators.

The contemporary descendants of that War Party, whose present lackey of convenience is Marco “Narco” Rubio, American Secretary of State and National Security Adviser, (and also the National Archivist of the United States, meaning that he is responsible for safeguarding the original documents of the United States, such as the Constitution!!) are now attempting to illegally overthrow the government of Venezuela, after having illegally killed scores of Venezuela’s citizens on the high seas. At the Nov. 20 Executive Intelligence Review Emergency Seminar, “President Trump: Don’t Do It!! An Alternative American Policy for the Caribbean,” an international panel from Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela, Mexico, Germany, and the United States convened.

The distinguished speakers not only demolished the cover story supplied for the intended “regime change,” that “Venezuela’s government was a terrorist enterprise threatening the United States through its illegal drug trade.” They also revealed that the actual underlying motivation of the military deployment is a desperate attempt to counter China’s collaboration with nations, such as Peru, in “great development projects.” These are development projects, such as the building of Peru’s Chancay Port, now the most advanced in the Western Hemisphere. Such projects and, more importantly, such thinking, will soon integrate South and Central America’s economies and nations.

Colonialism is truly over; Venezuela is not “the backyard” of the United States. Deepwater ports for Puerto Rico, Haiti and Cuba, high-speed rail crossing from Venezuela to Peru, and connecting South and Central America as a whole, astronomy and space centers, including human space flight centers, are the future.
