The growing awareness (and shock) of realising that many Government funded groups are sexualising our children, both in class and online, while parents are stressed out with finances, careers, political instability and all the other challenges we’re facing… is overwhelming.

We are experiencing ‘rapid onset sexualisation of minors’

A concerned father recently contacted the Waikato District Libraries, to raise his concern about the book ‘Welcome to Sex’.

This is their reply. They are calling their action “freedom of information”.

“Waikato District Libraries take guidance from The Library and Information Association of New Zealand (LIANZA) and are in full agreeance on their position regarding this book as stated below:

The Lianza’s standing committee on freedom of information chairwoman, Louise LaHatte, said libraries will not remove books simply because it causes offence, if it has met their review process.

“We trust individuals to make their own decisions about what they read and believe,” LaHatte said.

“In situations such as in the case of Welcome to Sex, there may be disagreements over the content. However, libraries don’t make individual decisions for their readers about what is appropriate,” she said. The book is also being stocked in libraries around New Zealand, including in the main centres."

Common sense is out the window

Today, right now, if you care enough for the young people of this once-great nation… do some digging, talk to others who are concerned, figure out what is happening here. I’ll give you a clue.

Follow the money.

I’ll give you another clue. Our government is rapidly amending and removing legislation, without due process being followed. Still in existence (for now) is the Films, Videos, and Publications Act 1993. Look up:

• Section 3 - the definition of ‘objectionable’.
  
• Section 3A - Publication may be age-restricted if it contains offensive language likely to cause serious harm.
  
• Section 3B - Publication may be age-restricted if likely to be injurious to public good for specified reasons.

Note, this article comes with a Warning to readers. Think about this. Who reads these articles on NZ Herald? Highly likely adults, certainly people of consenting age. And yet a warning is needed. The article goes on to say that “The book, targeted at 11- to 14-year-olds, traverses everything from consent and sexuality to sexual positions.”

"Welcome to Sex has been labelled “disgusting” and inappropriate by some, but educator and University of Canterbury adjunct lecturer Tracy Clelland said most parents actually wanted a book like this to help them educate their children."

The ‘some’ they speak of… would be concerned parents and grandparents. Are we silencing the very people for whom it is their responsibility to ensure the safety and care of their children? In order to give voice to a University lecturer? Come ON.

They think we're stupid

We're not though. We see them, we see what they are attempting to do. Are we brave enough to stop them? I am. Many are. Please stand with us. Please find your voice. Like this dad did... Are you confronting your school? Library? Council? MP? Isn't it time we do?
