On Monday, Sept. 15, an emergency meeting of representatives of some 60 nations will meet in Doha for an Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit. These are the members and guests of the Arab League and the Organization of Islam Cooperation planning to confer on the new strategic circumstances that now prevail after Israel just bombed in the Persian Gulf. Israel’s air strike on Doha Sept. 9 is its latest escalation in Israel’s regional warfare of strikes in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and now Qatar. This occurs all the while Israel conducts mass murder of Palestinians through both warfare and through imposing deprivation of the means to life—water, food, medical care, power.

It is not known what might come out of the emergency gathering in Doha Monday. A joint statement of denunciation of Israel came out of a pre-scheduled meeting Sept. 10 in Sochi, of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Dialogue. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented a grave view of the regional situation, in remarks to the media after the deliberations. “As we were exchanging opinions in a closed format today, everyone agreed that the unresolved Palestinian issue was the root cause of all the troubles in the Middle East….” He said that action is needed to “pull the settlement process back from where it is now, namely, on the brink of the abyss. It may well turn out that they [not identified—ed.] will force on us the viewpoint promoted by Israel, which claims a Palestinian state is not needed, and the Palestinians need to be resettled and, following the ethnic cleansing, an entity controlled by Israel should be created in the Gaza Strip. This is a very dangerous approach.”

Discussion in advance of the emergency gathering includes speculation on whether now is the time for new moves for security involving China, or Türkiye, or Russia, or some other contingency. The upcoming October 15 meeting in Russia of the new Russia-Arab Summit takes on special importance. It was first announced in May.

The United States, an ally of Qatar, and a backer of Israel, failed entirely to protect Qatar from air strikes. This is so, even while the U.S. maintains one of its largest military installations in the world in Qatar on the Persian Gulf in the name of “security.”

Yesterday Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani flew to Washington and visited with President Donald Trump at the White House in the evening of Sept. 12. No reports of substance have been issued. Before that meeting, Sheikh Mohammed, who is also Foreign Minister, met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President J.D. Vance. Today, Rubio flew directly to Israel (before otherwise proceeding to London for pre-meetings on Trump’s U.K. state visit beginning Sept. 17). The State Department’s notice of Rubio’s Israel trip repeated its customary fawning rhetoric.

Israel’s outlaw conduct, with U.S. backing, is nominally on the agenda of the United Nations, whose General Assembly convened in New York Sept. 9. On Sept. 22 is scheduled a UNGA High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine. It was for this meeting that the UNGA on Sept. 12 voted up, 142 to 10 (12 abstentions), what is called the “New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and Implementation of the Two-State Solution,” which is a seven-page text on the Palestinian state. This statement was produced in July from the special meeting on Palestine and Israel moderated by Saudi Arabia and France—designated by the UNGA in 2024 to perform this facilitator function. The United States and Israel heavily organized against the project all along. French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to come to New York to address the High-Level session and announce recognition of Palestine statehood, which is a dismal irony, given that he himself notoriously lacks support in his own country. Meantime, the hideous destruction in Gaza proceeds.

What can make all the difference is the action of citizenry—from rank and file, to high officeholders—mobilizing internationally for real action on the Gaza emergency. Today Berlin hosted a demonstration of 20,000, the largest turnout in months. On Monday, Sept. 15, there will be a demonstration at the United Nations in New York. The Schiller Institute is circulating the statement, “Take Concrete Action Toward a New Era: To Stop the Genocide.”

The historic shift is underway of the Global Majority committed to economic development and security, but the urgency to stop immediate crimes and dangers requires extraordinary action. Sign and circulate the Schiller Institute callby founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, “The Nations of the West Must Cooperate with the New World Economic Order, “ which lists six points of action.

It is more “realistic” than ever to make known the concept of the “Oasis Plan” approach in Southwest Asia, as the vista of the Arctic and Pacific Basin development shapes out, following the historic meetings in China and Russia in the first week of September.

One point of battle information: The Global NATO alignment centered in the trans-Atlantic is moving in the UNGA, as well as at large, to get maximum confrontation with Russia and the Global Majority through hype that Russia attacked Poland/Europe with drones. Instead of a process of investigation, consultation and resolution, a campaign for maximum conflict is in motion. Plus, watch out for more incidents, and potentially lethal false-flag ones.

Yesterday, at the UN, Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki personally read a statement, before the UN Security Council met on the topic, denouncing Russia, which is reported to have a mere 46 nations signing, out of 193 UN members. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte yesterday proclaimed there will be ongoing NATO maneuvers to “display assets” of NATO in Eastern Europe, called “Operation Eastern Sentry.” There is an intense campaign underway for more sanctions not only against Russia, but also against China, India and other countries for buying Russian oil. Today, President Trump issued a notice that he is challenging all NATO countries to put on these sanctions.

This underscores that our job is to exercise spokesmanship for humanity, and speak out and act against all these kinds of lies and evil operations in play. Lyndon LaRouche many times over the years spoke of what one must do as a human being, on behalf of humanity. In 1979, LaRouche gave a statement in memory of a valued friend, who died early from illness. In his remarks, titled “Our Immortal Purpose,” he said, “the reminder of our own mortality rightly guides us to seek in the course of our lives the fulfillment of that sort of universal and immortal purpose, which makes our having lived worthwhile.” He said, “We have no other moral choice,” than to contribute to “advancing the human race for all the future as well as all the present, by contributing to the foundation on which the living and the future generations shall build.”
